Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival – Nairobi city experience.
Fly into Nairobi for the start of your 12 days safari in Kenya. At Jomo-Kenyatta international airport, you will meet and greet your driver guide, who will brief about Kenya, and beauty adorned in it. After the briefing session, you will hit the road to your hotel for refreshment and Lunch. In the evening hours, there will be an optional Nairobi city tour, to shopping centers, cultural and traditional sites.
Nairobi is a very busy city, with modern infrastructure, and good security. However, be guided when taking photos as there are several nice places with restrictions. At night fall, you will have dinner and night stay.
Day 2: Drive to Amboseli NP
After breakfast, you will hit the road to Amboseli National park located at the feet of the giant Mount. Kilimanjaro. The park is home to large herds of elephants, several antelope species and cats. On road, watch the vast plantations, rolling hills and happy citizens in the country side. Afternoon arrival at the lodge for check-in, refreshment, and lunch.
Spend the evening on a guided nature walk through the designated trails so as to watch the beautiful sunset, and flora of the park.
Day 3: Full day game drive
After a mouthwatering breakfast at the lodge, set-out for a morning and sunset game drive at the open savannah park; with the big5 African cats notably the lions, leopards, Rhinos, Buffaloes and elephants. Elephants are the dominant animals in this park. and ranger guides will help you identify and understand the life and story of the park residents.
Have a bush breakfast, Lunch in the wild and the late return to the Lodge after the sunset game drive. You will focus on photographic sceneries, plants and animals for about six hours. Amboseli national park is one of the most visited savannah parks in the republic of Kenya; situated at the feet of the stunning Mount Kilimanjaro; the tallest mountain on African continent. End this day with dinner and a sweet slumber after a long day.
Day 4: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha
Wake-up to the first meal of the day. Afterword’s, you will hit the road to Lake Naivasha; home to the flamingos, and several other mammals. You will enjoy the stunning view of the plantations, rolling hills, scattered homesteads, and the busy towns.
There is a stopover for lunch, and then you will proceed with the drive to the lodge, where you will arrive at sunset for refreshment, dinner and a peaceful nap. When you arrive early, you can engage in any other activity offered by the lodge or just chill while waiting for the next day activities.
Day 5: Bird watching and boat ride
After breakfast, you will join your ranger guide for a birders eye experience. From 07:00 hours; the eyes, ears and camera join efforts to identify numerous bird species at the designated trail by name, habitat, and unique characteristics. Among the Birds are the pink flamingoes that arraign at the lake shores joined by other aquatic birds.
After identifying species of birds, return to the lodge for lunch break, and refreshments. The day’s last activity is boat cruise along the calm waters, guided by an expert guide who will show you the different birds, mammals such as hippos and crocodiles, those by the lake shores and swamps. Dinner and a peaceful night stay at the lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Hell’s Gate National Park.
After breakfast, transfer to Hell’s Gate National park. The road trip is smooth, and you will watch the stunning lush vegetation, and scattered homesteads. There will be an early arrival at your lodge in the park; check-in, proceed for lunch and enjoy a leisurely evening. You can choose to go site seeing or community walk, as the sun sets. End this day with dinner and a peaceful nap at the lodge.
Day 7: Hell’s Gates National park to Lake Nakuru
From having a delicious cup of coffee, head out for the next activity in this park; the 3 hour guided nature walk. As you stretch your muscles and enjoy the stunning scenery, explore the hot springs and the geothermal station. The tour guide will explain about the places you will visit so as to appreciate their uniqueness.
Afterwards, you will return to the lodge for early lunch and a check-out for the transfer to Lake Nakuru with amazing views, plantations and the different African-style settlements. End this day with a peaceful sleep after dinner.
Day 8: Game drive and boat cruise
Kick start this day with a delicious breakfast. Later, go for a 3-4 hours’ game drive, where you may chance to see among others; a hunting chase, birth, and any other wilderness highlight. Among the commonly sighted animals are; the warthogs, elephants, waterbuck, wildebeests, Buffalos, giraffes and more.
Lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs and more are present in this park though hard to find. Pay attention to the birds, different plant species, eye-catching landscape, and more you will encounter by the end of the game drive session. Return to the lodge for Lunch, and spend the evening hours exploring the lake on a boat, with the sights of among others the hippos, crocodiles, aquatic birds, swamps and more. Keep the interaction with the guide going until that time to return to the lodge for a rest, dinner and a sweet sleep.
Day 9: Transfer to Masai Mara reserve
After having a relaxed night, a cup of coffee brightens the reality of the day. After breakfast, there is an exit game viewing opportunity while signing off to Masai Mara reserve. This road trip takes about 6-7 hours, with an enroute stopover for photography and site seeing at the magnificent Great Rift Valley.
After an approximately 30-minute break, proceed with the Journey while expecting more surprises, and brief stopovers. You will identify the different farm lands and plantations in the countryside, homesteads, and busy towns. There is a stopover for lunch in Narok area, and then an afternoon arrival at the lodge for refreshment. Spend the evening resting, watch as the sun sets, dinner follows and a peaceful night stay.
Day 10: Full day game drive
Wake up to a sunrise game drive at the open savannah park. This game drive ushers you to the different corners of the park where you may chance to see among others the African Big 5 cats, namely; the lions, leopards, Buffaloes, Rhinos, and elephants. Others are the hyenas, zebra, wildebeest, ostriches, flamingos, crocodiles, and school of hippos, egrets, baboons, impalas, wild dogs, hartebeest, giraffes, some unique plants, and more.
Explore the Mara River which is the climax and the most interesting spot in the annual wildebeest migration. The Migration is the largest mass movement of animals in the world. Masai Mara joins the Serengeti of Tanzania, and is arguably one of the best wildernesses in the world. Enjoy bush breakfast, picnic lunch, and a sunset game drive with hopes of encountering the nocturnal species and those you might have missed out in the previous search. End the day at the lodge with dinner and a relaxed slumber.
Day 11: Masai cultural adventure
Start your day with a mouthwatering breakfast meal at the lodge. After, you will visit the Masai warriors; one of the most famous tribes in Africa. For decades, the Masai people have carried on with the faith and beliefs of their forefathers. They are proud herdsmen, and identify themselves with cattle. They uphold their unique culture, dress code and cuisine. With visitors, they sing, dance and tell stories. It is a unique way of ending a Kenyan safari.
Get to explore the cattle kraals, farmlands, and the Manyattas. The climax of it all is the jump challenge where the highest jumper takes up the day’s crown. You can choose to share a meal with the natives, and return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and a night stay.
Day 12: Departure
Wakeup at ease for breakfast, and a check-out for a transfer back to Nairobi city where you will board your departure flight, or to the next destination. You may do some more shopping around the city and have the last best thank you from our company representative.
