Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & transfer to Nairobi National Park
Early arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport in Nairobi, meet your Kenya guide for a warm welcome and later, drive outside the airport. Drive out of the city, a short distance to the beautiful Nairobi National Park, a protected area set just at the backdrop of Nairobi capital.
Get to the park early and be welcomed by long-necked giraffes and myriad of other wildlife while they graze. Connect to your lodge for relaxation, enjoy dinner and retire for the night.
Day 2: Conservation day
A full day will be dedicated for you unpack the important wildlife conservation aspects in the spectacular Nairobi National Park. The first visit will be made to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. This is where you will find the rescued elephant calves and they are kept here till they are mature enough to be released into the wild.
Aside from viewing these mammals, there is a chance to also sponsor an orphan. Next will be touring the Giraffe Centre run by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife. You will have adequate time interacting with the Rothschild giraffes, take photos and explore more about their behaviors. Other sites to finalize your day will include Karen Blixen Museum and Nairobi National Museum.
Day 3: Nairobi national park to Amboseli national park
Exit Nairobi National Park for Amboseli National Park, 3-4 hours’ drive. Renowned as home of the African elephants, Amboseli NP lies at the backdrop of the spectacular Mt. Kilimanjaro. It is one of Kenya’s most famous parks, set in Kajiado South Constituency, Kajiado County. Once you have arrived at the park, you will have good time at the lodge and after, embark on late afternoon game drive.
On Amboseli NP game drive, expect to come across wildlife species such as impalas, zebras, African buffaloes, lions, giraffes, wild dogs, leopards, lesser Kudus, cheetahs, hyrax, dik-dik and many birds. From your game drive, return to the camp or lodge for leisurely dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Full day in Amboseli (Enjoy game viewing)
With an experienced guide, begin your day with a morning game drive through Amboseli National Park. In a 4×4 safari vehicle, keep eyes on the morning risers as they become active and many other mammals. Your sights for the day will range from leopards, mongoose, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hyrax, and a lot more. During lunch, you may have what was packed for you or return to the lodge then proceed with the 2nd session.
Day 5: Amboseli -Masai Mara
A leisurely breakfast and after, drive outside of Maasai Mara National Reserve, about 8-9 hours’ drive. The long day drive comes with scenic countryside views, lunch break and other refreshments. On arrival at Maasai Mara, expect to check in at your lodge to chill and retire for the night.
Day 6: Full day at Masai Mara (Wildlife Viewing)
Get ready for your full day (morning and afternoon) game viewing expedition with an experienced guide. Today’s sightings are enormous and include the big five members (leopards, lions, elephants, buffaloes and rhinos), wildebeest, cheetahs, Masai giraffes, zebras, Thomson’s gazelles, topis, elands, and others. A picnic will accompany the morning session and after, you will continue with an afternoon game drive till that time you will be heading back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Maasai Mara-Serengeti via Isebania border
After breakfast, you will depart for Isebania border located west of Maasai Mara Reserve. Get cleared early at the border and continue to your camp or lodge in the savanna dominated Serengeti National Park.
Day 8: Full day wildlife viewing -big 5 game & Great Migration
Leave your camp or lodge ready for yet another long day excursion and today, the focus is on Serengeti National Park. It will be a memorable morning and afternoon game viewing excursion as you look out for your favorite wildlife species including the big game members, watching the Great migration and other faunal species.
Day 9: Serengeti to Ngorongoro (UNESCO Site)
Early in the morning, you will enjoy breakfast at the camp or safari lodge. Drive out of the Serengeti NP for Ngorongoro Crater/Conservation Area with en-route game drive. Ngorongoro is most referred to as the Garden of Eden, home to the huge concentrations of wildlife and also the world’s biggest intact volcanic caldera.
The Ngorongoro Crater is spectacular offering not only natural beauty but also great chance for you to encounter myriad of wildlife including lions, rhinos, and birds. You will have a great moment marveling the distinct Ngorongoro crater then ascend to the rim before you connect to the lodge.
Day 10: Full day Ngorongoro excursion
A sumptuous breakfast be enjoyed at the comfort of your camp and after, set off for a long day excursion in Ngorongoro. You may choose to explore the area in the morning and return to the lodge or have it at once. Today’s sightings include the African buffaloes, black rhinos, leopards, zebras, giraffes, and more.
Day 11: Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara national park
Start your journey to Lake Manyara NP, another rich wildlife park in Tanzania. At Lake Manyara N/Park, you will first check in at the lodge and also have refreshment plus lunch. Continue with late afternoon game drive through the park and highlights for the day include giraffes, tree climbing lions, elephants, impalas, zebras, buffaloes, flamingos, and others.
Or embark on Lake Manyara treetop walkway expedition along 370m walkway starting from board-walk to series of suspension bridges. As you walk, keep eyes on faunal and flora plus the surrounding areas.
Day 12: Full day safari in Lake Manyara national park
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and after, you will set off for morning game drive. The park supports different animal species and today, expect to come across elephants, lions, giraffes, warthogs, klipspringers, impalas, and birds.
Drive back to the lodge for lunch and you will return for a boat ride at around 5pm, a perfect opportunity for you to look out for aquatic species including flamingos, Fischer’s sparrow larks, hippos, and crocodiles, etc.
Day 13: Lake Manyara NP to Tarangire NP
At leisure, have a cup of tea or coffee and after, begin your journey to Tarangire National Park. Have great time at the lodge while you wait the next day’s experiences at Tarangire NP.
Day 14: Game viewing at Tarangire NP
After breakfast, embark on a guided game viewing session in the morning. Expect to come across lots of elephants, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes and wildebeest plus birds. Begin driving back to your camp in or around Tarangire National Park. Settle for lunch and late in the afternoon, pay a visit to the Maasai village. Enjoy the cultural & traditional dance performance with locals.
Day 15: Drive to Arusha. Departure
Meet your driver guide for pick up and transfer to Arusha. At Arusha, catch up with your flight back home and this concludes your 15 days Kenya Tanzania safari.
