This 7 days Rwanda gorillas & Mara safari presents spectacular experiences in the Masai Mara wilderness where you will have opportunities to view rare wildlife species especially wildebeests, the big 5 animals and other predators.

Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by a company representative and later embark on the journey to Volcanoes National Park. The drive to Volcanoes National Park will take about 2 hours and 30 minutes and on arrival you will check in at the lodge.
Unwind at the lodge and later lunch will be served in the afternoon. After lunch, you will have a tour around the lodge where you will have the opportunity to view the entire wilderness from the lodge premises. Dinner will be served later in the evening at sunset and you will stay for an overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking and Twin Lakes tour
Morning breakfast will be served at the lodge at sunrise to enable you have energy for the day’s activities. After, you will head to the park headquarters where you will meet park rangers who will brief you about guidelines of gorilla tracking adventure. After briefing, embark on the gorilla tracking adventure in the jungle that will take over six hours.
You will be allowed a full hour that is uninterrupted for you to interact with the mountain gorillas in the jungle, view how they groom their young ones and also take nice photographs of them. Transfer back to the lodge after where you will be served lunch and after embark on a transfer to the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. The Twin Lakes are popular for their breathtaking views and therefore provide
opportunities for extraordinary photography. Enjoy the serenity of the environment at these lakes up to the evening. At sunset, transfer back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Drive back to Kigali and fly to Nairobi
Check out of the lodge and embark on a journey to Kigali International Airport which is approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes. On arrival in Kigali, you will catch a flight to Nairobi.
At the hotel, you will be served a mouthwatering lunch and relax a little. There will be an optional city tour in the afternoon that will later take you to Karen Blixen museum for a deep dive into the exciting history of Kenya and its people.
Day 4: Nairobi to Masai Mara Reserve
After breakfast, you will embark on a drive to the South in Masai Mara national reserve. The drive will take you roughly 5 hours and 20 minutes and on arrival at the reserve, continue to the lodge, sign in at the lodge, enjoy the serenity of the lodge who will later serve you a delicious lunch. After lunch, you will have a relaxation as you enjoy the amenities at the lodge.
Later in the evening, embark on a guided nature walk in the vicinity of the lodge where you’ll have opportunities to spot some of the wild species that inhabit Masai Mara especially hyenas, warthogs, elephants and baboons. At dusk, transfer back to the lodge for a delectable dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Hot air balloon safari and game drive in Masai Mara
The exciting day will start off with a delicious meal at the hotel at sunrise. After the meal, you will embark on the sunrise hot air ballooning activity that will unveil to you a sensational chance of viewing the Masai Mara wilderness from above to see various inhabitants of the park from above. The balloon will fly you over the Savanna grasslands which are hunting grounds for big cats in the area especially lions and leopards. Enjoy the views of animals until mid-morning.
You will have an afternoon guided game drive. Through the savanna plains of Masai Mara for extended views of wild animals especially wildebeests and the big 5. The activity will take you up to sunset where you will transfer back to the lodge for dinner and accommodation for the night.
Day 6: Full day game drive in Masai Mara and Masai cultural tour
After breakfast, have a guided morning game drive in Masai Mara national reserve. This will help you explore the Conservancy to the fullest. Also encounter more of the species that inhabit the park. Transfer back to the lodge at midday for lunch to keep you energetic on the game drives.
After lunch, you will embark on an afternoon game drive. To ensure that you explore Masai Mara national reserve more. Also view the sites of the park that are beautified by the Savannah. The streams that serve water to the beautiful land. So visitors should keep their eyes open in order not to miss a thing. In the evening, you will head to the Masai community. Meet indigenous Masai people, interact with them the entire evening as they entertain you with their cultural dances. At dusk, transfer back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight rest.
Day 7: Drive back to Nairobi
Check out of the lodge. Embark on the drive back to Nairobi. It will take approximately 5 hours and 20 minutes to mark the end of the trip. On arrival in Nairobi, catch an international flight back home.
